extremely easy & extremely flavorful
Black Bean Burger
Even meat eaters will love it
Makes 2 large burgers
Recipe:
1 can of black beans, drained and rinsed
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 cloves of garlic
1 egg
1/4 cup panko style bread crumbs
1/4 cup of flour
1/8 cup of powdered parmesan
1/2 tsp of cumin
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp chili powder
Directions:
Drain and rinse the black beans, remove any extra water
Add black beans, onion, and garlic cloves to a food processor
Process until onions and garlic are combined, mixture should resemble refried beans
Transfer mixture to a large bowl, bread crumbs, flour, parmesan, cumin, salt, pepper, paprika, and chili powder
Mix well with spoon
Using your hands, form the burger patties. I make 2 large patties or you could make 3 smaller ones with this recipe.
Skillet cooking:
coat skillet with olive oil ( about 1-2 tbsp) and heat to medium heat
cook burgers 5-8 min per side until browned around all edges and slightly firm.
Grill cooking:
heat grill on a medium heat
cook about 6-8 min on each side until browned
move to top rack to add cheese

Kens thousand island (for in-n-out style)

Pairs great with many different side options! I usually do grilled veggies or mac & cheese
